Bromav 200mg Indication For use with phenobarbitone as an aid in the treatment of refractory canine epilepsy. Potassium bromide should be used in conjunction with phenobarbitone when seizures continue despite persistent trough phenobarbitone levels above 30 microgram/mL for one or two months.Criteria for classifying idiopathic canine epileptics as refractory to phenobarbitone are: 1) seizure cause not identified 2) phenobarbitone administered for at least three months with serum trough concentrations from 20 to 40 microgram/mL and a steady state trough concentration of 30 microgram/mL without a subsequent change in dosage for at least one month before bromide initiation; and 3) seizure number and severity unchanged for at least three months despite therapy.Bromide therapy can also be commenced if there is evidence of hepatotoxicity which requires reduction in dosage of the antiepileptic. Concurrent bromide therapy can result in partial or complete control of epileptic seizures in a high percentage of cases. DOSIS : 1 tablet/5 sampai 10 kg (20 sampai 40 mg/kg) setiap hari, atau dalam dosis terbagi setiap 12 jam, dengan makanan. Pilih dosis awal sesuai dengan tingkat sedasi yang dialami dengan terapi bersamaan. Setelah 30 hari, sesuaikan dosis sesuai dengan konsentrasi serum bromida dan respons klinis. Mempertahankan konsentrasi kondisi mapan terapeutik meningkatkan kemanjuran. Konsentrasi serum bromida dan fenobarbiton harus diukur pada 30 dan 120 hari, dan setiap enam bulan selama terapi atau jika terjadi efek samping. Melalui konsentrasi serum bromida harus antara 0,7 dan 2 mg/mL. Konsentrasi yang lebih tinggi dapat menyebabkan sedasi dan ataksia. Konsentrasi fenobarbiton serum secara bersamaan harus 25 sampai 30 mikrogram/mL. Fungsi hati juga harus dipantau pada saat-saat ini. Ketika bromida mendekati konsentrasi kondisi mapan dalam kisaran terapeutik dan kejang terkendali, pengurangan dosis fenobarbiton dapat dicoba.
